et qui continueront de se renforcer grâce à la volonté
des dirigeants et des peuples.
L’occasion a été saisie par l’ambassadeur pour présenter
brièvement le calendrier de la visite que va effectuer en Mauritanie
le souverain chérifien.
Il a notamment précisé que cette visite débutera
le lundi 10 septembre 2001 date de l’arrivée à Nouakchott
du Roi Mohamed VI. A son arrivée, le souverain aura un entretien
en tête à tête avec le président Ould Taya
avant de rejoindre sa résidence. Le Roi assistera ensuite à
un dîner offert en son honneur par le président mauritanien.
Le jour suivant aux environs de 9 heures, les deux dirigeants regagneront
la capitale des palmiers, Atar où un accueil haut en couleurs
les attend. Dans l’après-midi , ils se dirigeront à
Nouadhibou, capitale économique pour regagner la capitale le
même jour. C’est le lendemain, soit le mercredi, que le souverain
chérifien quittera la capitale à destination du Maroc.
Au sujet de l’avenir de la coopération, l’ambassadeur a rappelé
le projet de route qui reliera la ville marocaine de Leyoune à
Nouakchott précisant que cette route permettra une jonction
entre l’Afrique et le continent européen.
L’ambassadeur
d’Algérie visite la MAPECI
| L’ambassadeur de la République Algérienne en Mauritanie, son Excellence Kerkeb Mokhtar a effectué le mercredi dernier une visite de courtoisie à la Mauritanienne de Presse, d’Etion, de Communication et d’Inmpression (MAPECI) éditrice des journaux Nouakchott-Info et Akhbar Nouakchott. Il fut accueilli par le directeur de Publication Mr Cheikhna O. Nenni. Dans une atmosphère cordiale a eu lieu une conversation entre le diplomate et les équipes des deux journaux, Akhbar-Nouakchott et Nouakchott-Info. L’Ambassadeur s’est longuement exprimé sur les relations d’amitié et de fraternité qui lient l’Algérie et la Mauritanie, il a insisté sur le rôle crutial de la presse écrite indépendante, en tant que 4ème pouvoir dans le cadre de la sensibilisation de l’opinion publique sur la nécessité de l’unité du Maghreb Arabe. Il a également souligné que le Maghreb Arabe lié par des facteurs géographiques, historiques et culturels communs est appelé à s’intégrer. |
Au même
titre que les Européens qui ont pu réaliser l’intégration
malgré les différences, les peuples maghrébins,
grâce à leur identité culturelle similaire doivent
pouvoir réaliser cette intégration.
Il s’est aussi exprimé en qualité de Moujahid dans
les rangs de la révolution algérienne pour parler de cette
révolution et de la question palestinienne, précisant
que les arabes son porteurs d’un message de paix et qu’on
ne peut pas les décrire comme des terroristes car c’est
eux mêmes qui ont protégé les juifs lors de la deuxième
guerre mondiale et empêché leur dispersion, ajoutant que
les arabes ne sont pas contre les juifs en tant que juifs mais contre
le sionisme.
Conférence
de Durban
Les Américains et les Israéliens
se fâchent et se retirent
La question
du Proche-Orient focalise toutes les attentions de la conférence
de Durban. Depuis le début de la conférence qui a démarré
le 27 août dernier à Durban (en Afrique du Sud) des centaines
de manifestants brandissaient des slogans qualifiant Israël d’Etat
raciste et d’apartheid. Par ailleurs, 300 organisations non- gouvernementales
ont adopté dimanche dernier à Durban une résolution
caractérisant l’Etat hébreu ” d’Etat raciste “,
coupable d’actes de ” génocide ” contre le peuple
palestinien.
Ainsi dans leur résolution, les organisations non-gouvernementales
ont appelé à ” l’arrêt immédiat des
crimes racistes, systématiques perpétrés par
Israël dont les crimes de guerres, actes de génocide et
de nettoyage ethnique. Elle exhorte aussi les Nations Unies à
prendre des ” sanctions punitives ” jusqu’à ce qu’Israël
se retire de façon ” inconditionnelle “.
En revanche le Forum des ONGs se heurta tout de suite aux ” anges
gardiens ” de l’Israël.
En premier lieu Koffi Annan a tenu à rappeler le 03 août
qu’Israël a pendant longtemps été victime de racisme
et d’épuration ethnique un peu partout dans le monde.
Le patron de l’ONU a par ailleurs appelé les participants à
la conférence de ne point faire de la conférence de
Durban un procès contre l’Israël. Car selon lui il existe
bien d’autres points noirs qui méritent une plus grande attention.
C’est aussi l’opinion d’une vingtaine d’ONGs en l’occurrence la Fédération
Internationale des Droits de l’Homme, l’Amnesty International, le
président de la ligue contre le racisme et l’antisémitisme
qui parlent d’une diabolisation d’Israël et de manque de clairvoyance
dans la déclaration finale des ONGs. Selon un diplomate occidental
: “il n’y a pas eu un mot sur le concept de ” l’ivoirité
” ou le problème des esclaves au Soudan ou en Mauritanie”.
Le Lundi dans la matinée on apprend que les Etats Unis d’Amérique
et l’Israël ont claqué la porte, estimant que les déclarations
à l’encontre d’Israël sont ” haineuses ” et
destinées à ” nuire ” l’Etat hébreu.
Ce qui est de nature à distancer les positions autour d’Israël
même si des discussions sont en cours pour sauver la conférence
de Durban, puisque le président de l’Afrique du Sud a déclaré
ouvertement que ” le peuple palestinien a besoin de poursuivre
son développement dans des conditions de liberté et
de sécurité “.
Par ailleurs il n’y a pas eu que la question du proche orient à
Durban. L’indemnisation pour les victimes du racisme. L’idée
d’un Fond International pour les Victimes du Racisme a été
lancée par le comité français pour l’Afrique
du Sud et soutenue par le prix Nobel de la littérature, Nadine
Gordimer et Robert Badinter ancien président du Conseil Constitutionnel
français. Il s’agira d’une réparation financière
pour les victimes du racisme. Mais selon O. Abasanjo qu’accepter l’argent
pour réparation de mal causé par le racisme serait une
atteinte à la dignité des africains.
C’est alors dire que la conférence de Durban risque de se révéler
comme étant un échec que l’on pourrait bien apercevoir
au vu du mutisme et des discours consensuels des cinq gros bonnets
du conseil de sécurité.

d’une association
des amis de la Tunisie
Le lundi
20 août 2001, à 18 heures, une rénion regroupant
plusieurs personnalités s’est tenue au domicile de M.
Sid’Ahmed Ould Dey à Nouakchott. L’odre du jour de
la réunion était la constitution d’une association
des amis de la Tunisie. Etaient invités à la réunion
l’ambassadeur de Tunisie en Mauritanie, Abdel Wehab El Jemel
et El Hachem ben Ghacem le consul de Tunisie en Mauritanie.
